* It's quite common for indigo/crystal & (young, psychic) children to see spirits
It can be alarming as a parent/family member to know that the child is afraid and it can be frustrating not knowing how to help them if they are struggling to sleep alone (or at all) or be left alone (at all)
There have been a few nice ideas posted online on how to comfort them at night time and help them to not feel so afraid
Depending on their age it's good to listen to them.. ask questions about the people your children are seeing
if you feel it will help them to feel heard.
Chances are the visitors are relatives or friends who have passed over, it's nothing to be alarmed over, but of course frightening for children as they are not able to process and understand why they are seeing spirits.
Things that can help:
Dedicating a bedtime toy can help, you can spend some time with the toy and tell the little one that this is a bedtime cuddly and it's purpose is to keep away anything scary. Make sure you keep the bear close by during daytime so the child is used to them being around. Whether they sit in the car with (child) on the way home from school or they are kept in the lounge somewhere, put the bear somewhere your child can see them during the day.. (the bear protects, and your child will feel comforted seeing them there with them) in times where it's not needed, as well as nights where child is scared. They will be familiar with their bear-friends and it's more likely to comfort them
You could also (depending on age to avoid choking risk) open up the bear and place gemstones inside / sew the bear back up again, rose quartz is soothing for children as is blue lace agate (they make a nice combo to use together - to keep in bedroom. You could do this or place them up on a shelf/window sill
The rose quartz is known to help with sleep and brings feelings of content/peace/comfort and love. The blue lace agate also has a soothing effect and used together they seem to help (tried and tested with a child who has adhd/insomnia)
.... dried lavender can help the child get to sleep , you could place some in a small organza bag and hang it near the bed or place inside a pouch inside the pillowcase (provided child is not allergic).. failing that , a few drops of lavender oil on a cloth, placed near bed will help them to feel relaxed
Night lights can help too as can something quiet in the background / soft music can help distract, even low volume tv in another room can help distract them.
Some use 'monster spray' which is a special bottle of home made essential oil spray, for the child to use whenever they are afraid of something being in their room and so on. The idea is the spray will get rid of anything bad , it's a magical spray that gets rid of all scaries. You can decorate an empty clean spray bottle with little one, and together make a label that says anything similar to 'monster go away spray' or (be creative) :D
Once the bottle is decorated you can mix a solution of essential oils & water (very diluted). Most use lavender oil but you could use any other non-toxic oil, or even just salt water. (1 tsp sea salt granules to 500ml water would do the trick
