LIVE: Boeing Starliner departs ISS
A Boeing Starliner spacecraft will depart the International Space Station, while its crew will remain on the ISS.
Starliner delivered astronauts Barry "Butch" Wilmore and Sunita "Sunni" Williams to the ISS on June 5, 2024, for what was planned as an 8-day test mission.
Due to helium leaks and malfunctioning thrusters, their 8-day stay has been extended to 8 months.
Concerned with the safety of the crew, NASA decided to return Starliner to Earth uncrewed.
It will deorbit and land in New Mexico, as it did during its previous uncrewed test flight.
Wilmore and Williams will return home from ISS in February 2025, aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon.
