I hear the name Alan, but feel this is a friend's name he's referring to who he has joined.
He was a popular man in the midst of his life, but get the feeling he enjoyed his own company
in his later life. I see a few things.
Coffee jars, mugs of coffee. Ambulances.
TV on in the evening and an armchair
next to a window, covered by long curtains.
He had interest in politics and was passionate about
making sure he voted and made sure others voted.
He had a circle of friends in a pub, liked to take small holidays away.
Camping at butlins mean anything?. He loved music.

I feel as though he was close to his mum. Your grandma.
Religious man, See him praying. Christian.
He loved dogs. He believed there was more after life and has found the ones he loves.
Was a fan of Princess Diana. Patriotic. Had ties to the Army and Royal Airforce/Navy.

But the last part of his life he couldn't walk anymore

Aww. Thanks for the feedback... honestly, seems like a lovely person. Someone who i'd stop and say hello too whilst walking the dog or something. I see him in a front garden, chopping and shaping the bushes in the garden with shears. I see so much from him that it's hard to know where to start and where to finish.. Now that he is aware of the spirit world, he is very open to sharing and communicating .. he is like an open book to me, not many are. He is probably the most open from all the spirit loved ones I've ''spoken'' with … that is a really good sign he is comfortable with where he is, what he's able to. He is reflecting happily on his life and is not surprised about his 'ending' but is happy he did ''all he could'' whilst he could, in his life on Earth … he is satisfied with the life he had, despite the pain and mobility problems. He wishes that he could have done a few more things, he shared an interest in the Sea in the same way that you did. I feel as though he wanted to go on a cruise ship on holiday, and had a fascination with wanting to see the Northern Lights. Were you aware of this?

Either way he sends you lots of love and tells you to keep smiling because it's going to be brighter soon. That's his words and message for you Jo. you were his favourite, but don't tell your siblings he said.

Also, are you aware of ancestors in Wigan, up north, near Manchester. The town is mentioned frequently...

Things will get better

Life can be unfair to us, we want to run and hide
It's times like these you need a friend, to be right by your side
We all have hurt and loneliness, we sometimes look away
We try to hide these aweful thoughts, each morning of each day

We need to look within ourselves, and take the good inside
As this will help us through these times, our dignity and pride
Each day will help to heal the heart, we need to take things slow
And just remember each of us, our kindness we must show

People tend to hurt us, with reasons so unclear
We cry and sob and feel alone, we long for someone near
We seem so lost and frightened, the ache inside is real
