I had the worst toothache last night :face: it was so painful. Anyway, since I am the kind of person to fret about what if's, I luckily had a bottle of clove oil in the medicine cabinet and have to say it really works this is a good thing to know.. I really do recommend keeping a little vial of it at home in case you have a tooth ache and can't visit a dentist right away. Add some pure oil around 6-7 drops to 1 cotton wool ball and apply it to the gum below the tooth and compress for up to 20 minutes. It tastes horrible but it works sooo well . I was surprised how good it worked and did a quick read up on it. The numbing injections which dentists use for minor (non wisdom tooth) extractions , is based on the chemical found in clove oil. It works as a local anaesthetic. Not always for long, maybe an hour at a time but you can re-apply clove oil every half an hour.
If you hate the taste you can dilute it with some luke warm water and apply it that way.
It's good stuff.
