When we experience paranormal activity, particularly in the home or workplace, it really can be unsettling
Most times, it genuinely is nothing to worry about
As concerning as it can be, most times it's someone known to us.
The media , movies included, exaggerate it 100 times over.
Chances are, lights flashing and footsteps heard are Uncle John, rather than something that will require a priest and smudge smoke and prayers. That is a promise
There are specific ways to tell who it may be, the first question I usually ask is think of the following
1- Is it happening frequently enough for you to distinguish a pattern? ie, only in the evenings, only in one room. And if so, do you recall any passed relatives who would for example, follow this pattern?. A good example is a smoker. If none of you smoke but you smell tobacco often, You can often times put it down to a smoker who has now passed on
2- Is it coming close to any anniversary dates?
Not only dates of passing, but birthdays, wedding anniversaries, the birth of a new relative, all significant dates are important clues as to who may be visiting.
3- Trust your own senses. Do you have a gut feeling that it is anyone in particular?
Is the activity happening when you are thinking of someone in particular?
4- finally, where is it happening? Most times activity at home will be a relative or a previous tenant of the building, if the location is significant, date of building is over roughly 60yrs, or if there is a history there, such as the land history or building history.
Either way, rule out relatives and friends first before starting to panic... Most times, it's someone coming to say hello, reassure you, even to play tricks for humour (it's not unheard of )
