I would have to agree with Dragon on this. I don't see any difference either.
Ouija boards are like antennas for bored spirits. The Ouija board picks up and gives these spirits a chance to mess around with the living. Some of these spirits, just like some people, are negative and actually use these Ouija boards to manipulate vulnerable people. Let's say I knew someone and his mother, his mother was told to burn the Ouija board to do as soon as she got off the phone. She was taken aback by the urgency, but she thought burning it was a little dramatic. She agreed to get rid of the Ouija board and told if she had any more problems, she would call that person back. When she hung up the phone, she got the Ouija board from the bedroom closet and threw it in the garbage. As far as she was concerned, that would be enough. She went back to her housework, and after a while, forgot about the whole thing.
When she worked her way back upstairs and into her bedroom, there it was, sitting on the bed. This freaked her out. She grabbed the board and hurried down to the fireplace to burn it. She was no longer thinking that this was being too dramatic. She was scared, really scared. She threw the wooden board in the fireplace. She grabbed newspaper and kindling, and stuffed it underneath the Ouija board. She lit a match. She said it felt like the Ouija board was alive, like an evil male spirit. She was half-expecting the board to start talking to her, begging for its life. She watched as the newspaper and kindling caught fire. But the Ouija board wouldn't burn. She started to get nervous. She grabbed more newspaper and threw them in. The board still wouldn't burn. She ran to get some charcoal fluid and poured it all over the board. Finally, it caught fire. Finally, she felt relieved.
Later on, she would tell her son that when it finally did start to burn, it made weird nosies, like it was alive. She watched as the board slowly burned. She wasn't going to feel comfortable until the whole thing was gone. When her son came back from school, he thought he would take it out for a spin. When he couldn't find it, and asked his mother where it was. She looked at him with a harried look on her face, said, "Now I want you to listen to me. Forget about the Ouija board. It's gone. I burned it. I know you looked at it as a toy, but it wasn't a toy. Honey, it started to control our lives, so I got rid of it".
Her son was only 8 years old. His mother went on to say to him that we had to be careful, that because of the learning process we were going through, negative as positive forces were going to be attracted. When we are feeling afraid, like when they were around, to ask for protection - to visualize a white light from God surrounding us, like a flashlight. It would protect us from negative spirits. Positive spirits wouldn't scare us because they didn't want to. They were generally more evolved spiritually. And they had unconditional love for people and would only show themselves to us when they knew we were ready. These positive spirits were old souls. They had been around for a while. It's important to concentrate on them and not be taken by the negative ones. She also told her son that he needed to be able to recognize that in people as well as in spirits.
Her son was very surprised at how much his mother knew. I mean, he didn't think that his mother was stupid, but this is 1965 we are talking here. Moms were moms. They cooked and cleaned and went to the store and drove to places, but they didn't think. At least his mother wasn't a thinker. He was impressed with how much she knew about those stuff.
Like Dragon said, believes in purity without tools. I have to agree with Dragon on that too because I am the same way.
